The following video features Liberal Party of Canada Leader Bob Rae speaking about The Charter coming into being, that the substantive rights we have as human beings take precendence over the activities of Government, and other thoughts about why we celebrate the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, including because it speaks to our sense about who we are as Canadians.
Grade 11 high school students in Mississauga from Lorne Park Secondary School were given an assignment from their law teacher to make a PSA and post in our forum on charterproject.ca. Each group was asked to talk about a different topic or section of The Charter. This video is about language rights. What an excellent assignment!
